I'm so glad you reviewed it to bring it to those who wouldn't pick it up because of it's sci-fi overtones.Valerienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-997060581502551518.post-5875799440533448972008-04-08T14:28:12.000-04:002008-04-08T14:28:12.000-04:00I have to admit that over the last few days, I'...I have to admit that over the last few days, I've been debating about whether to continue on or not, even though, when I finished Outlander,it was a given. I guess in the interest of further broadening my horizons (and the fact that I am completely in love with Jamie) I will at least read the next one.

Any other opinions out there? I agree with you that there are some disturbing scenes and I think the author tries to shock. Certainly from what I have seen of the later books in the series such disturbing scenes continue...
Anyway, I did think that this is a great book and it's on my "favourite reads" list.

Jamie is adorable, and is a great hero (as you say).clorindatnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-997060581502551518.post-12146490974633378632008-04-12T12:01:29.000-04:002008-04-12T12:01:29.000-04:00Ah, another Outlander convert, yay! I'm another person who read the entire series in about the space of a month last year. This is a book I'd even recommend on its own, though, that's how much I enjoyed it.

Due to the length of the books, Outlander is the only one I've read more than once. I do remember preferring the first three books of the series overall, but I think that has to do with the shift of locations, because the books move out of Scotland.

Some readers didn't really enjoy The Fiery Cross (5th book). That was my least favourite too, but it didn't deter me from continuing on. A Breath of Snow and Ashes gets back into the swing of things with interesting revelations, I thought.lemontartnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-997060581502551518.post-83549588897397934842008-04-11T18:20:19.000-04:002008-04-11T18:20:19.000-04:00Welcome to Outlander Addicts Anonymous. I went from library to library until I found them all (only one of the books was in the local bookstore).

I just can't get over Claire and Jamie. Jamie is wonderful, but I find that I don't want him for myself, like some heroes draw me in, but rather want him for Claire. I want Claire for Jamie and Jamie for Claire. I hope you will travel through the stones again and explore the other books.Amy Lynnnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-997060581502551518.post-37383095808541492812008-04-12T17:20:54.000-04:002008-04-12T17:20:54.000-04:00For the love of all things holy!
